I joined Hart House Debate Club in Spring 2021. I have debated at the North American WGM Debate Tournament,
International Australian British Parliamentary Debate Championships, National Canadian British Parliamentary Debate Championships, and at internal tournaments such
as Hart House Women's Debate Tournament and Hart House Central Novices. I've also adjudicated at the
Colgate Open, Hart House IV, and Hart House High Schools. Additionally, I
worked as an internal tournament tabulation officer managing debate
tabulation software.
As a novice-category speaker (a debater with less than one year of debate experience),
I broke into the Open Semifinals at the National Canadian British Parliamentary Debate
Championships 2022. Since then, I have chosen not to renew
my travelling member status so I can focus on engineering.
I still follow debate, though, and I'm looking forward to watching WUDC Panama 2025!

Thessaloniki WUDC 2016 - Open Finals Motion: THB (this house believes) that the world's poor would be justified in pursuing complete Marxist revolution. Thailand WUDC 2020 - EFL Semifinals Motion: THP (this house prefers) a world where, starting today, all humans have identical intellectual abilities (equivalent to the current global average). Zagreb WUDC 2014 - ESL Finals Motion: THW (this house would), assuming it was technically feasible, remove the ability of soldiers to feel fear. |
